Terms of use

The short version is: use it

Written to be read rather than to be impenetrable. Where a term below is unusual for a site like this, the reason is given beside it.

Seller and billing contact

Paid API plans are sold by Ander Pascal, based in Logroño, Spain. For billing questions, cancellations, refund requests or payment problems, contact corrections@llmbottleneck.com.

What you may do

  • Use any figure, commercially or otherwise. Quote it, put it in a spreadsheet, put it in a report you sell. This covers a figure read on a page. Attribution is asked for and the cite page says how, but for a figure it is not a condition. Results served to the public from the free API plan are the one exception, below.
  • Reuse the downloadable dataset, with attribution. The compatibility dataset is a different thing from a figure: it is a compilation, published under CC BY 4.0, and that licence does require attribution. The copyable attribution is on the data page.
  • Install the widget on a commercial page. Including a shop that sells hardware. No permission is needed and no key is issued for it. The widget carries this site’s name and a linked credit; Pro and Business render it without them on the domains the account registers.
  • Call the API from your product. A free key is requested at /keys with no account, where the page shows whether issuance is currently open. Rate limits are published and enforced.
  • The free API plan’s one condition: a visible credit. Where results obtained with a free-plan key are shown to the public — on a website, in an app, in a published table — show the line “Hardware compatibility data: LLM Bottleneck” beside them, visible and linked to https://llmbottleneck.com/. Internal tools, prototypes and anything nobody else sees need no credit. Paid plans carry no attribution condition. This is how the free plan is paid for, which is why it is a condition rather than a request.

Model weights, model cards, configuration files, product names, trademarks and manufacturers' specifications belong to their owners and are not relicensed by this site; each is cited by its source URL and remains under its owner's terms. The underlying facts — a published file size, a manufacturer’s stated bandwidth — are not ours to license in the first place. That is why these terms are permissive: pretending otherwise would be claiming ownership of somebody else’s specification sheet.

A data licence, agreed in writing for one named product, lifts the dataset’s attribution condition for that product and permits redistributing the dataset files inside it. It changes nothing else here: the evidence columns stay part of the data, and the facts restated from publishers and manufacturers remain theirs.

What you may not do

  • Present a figure as measured when it was computed. Every response carries its evidence tier for exactly this reason, and stripping the tier to make a reconstruction look like a measurement misrepresents the work rather than merely reusing it.
  • Use the API in a way that degrades it for others — circumventing rate limits by cycling keys, or issuing keys automatically at scale.
  • Imply an endorsement of a product. The engine reports what published specifications imply; it does not recommend a seller.

What is not warranted

The figures here are computed from published documents and are provided as they are, with no warranty of any kind. Memory and speed on a real machine depend on the runtime, its version, the driver, the operating system and what else is resident — none of which this site can observe.

The accuracy scorecard publishes the measured error of each part of the engine that has a corpus to score it against, including the formats it handles worst, and says which parts have none — resident memory and the runtime reserve among them. It is there so a reader can judge how much weight a figure carries. Read it before making a purchase you cannot reverse.

Nothing here is a substitute for testing on the hardware you actually have. Liability for a decision taken on the basis of these figures rests with the person taking it, to the fullest extent the law allows.

Availability and change

There is no service level. The site, the API and the widget are provided without an availability commitment, and the free tier may change. A breaking change to the API will be announced to key holders at the address they gave, and recorded in the changelog, before it ships.

Commercial terms effective 2026-09-15. The operational rules below are enforced by the service itself; these published commercial terms govern the sale.

  • Price, tax and renewal. Pro is $19 a month or $190 a year, and Business is $79 a month or $790 a year, in USD. Enterprise is priced by written agreement. Prices are before any applicable tax; Checkout asks for the billing address, and optionally a VAT number, and Stripe Tax calculates tax where the seller is required and registered to collect it. Each subscription renews automatically at the end of each monthly or yearly period until it is cancelled, at the price it was bought at: a later change to list prices does not apply to an existing subscription.
  • Cancellation. A customer may cancel at any time from the billing portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period, and access remains available until then. A cancellation does not create a partial-period refund unless required by applicable law.
  • Refunds and consumer rights. We refund duplicate or erroneous charges and honor any mandatory consumer withdrawal, refund or other statutory right. Requests can be sent to the billing contact above; otherwise, unused time is not refunded on a voluntary cancellation.
  • Allowance. Calls are counted per account per UTC day and reset at 00:00 UTC. Unused calls do not carry over.
  • What costs a call. Every analysis the engine runs, including one whose answer is “unsupported”. Invalid requests, rate-limit refusals and server failures cost nothing.
  • Keys and accounts. A key is a credential of an account. Plans belong to the account, so keys can be rotated or revoked without affecting billing. An account bought without a key receives its key on the page Stripe returns the buyer to, once the payment is confirmed; it is shown once, and can be replaced from that page for a day.
  • Subscription states. A plan is in force while its subscription is active, in a configured trial, or past due while the payment processor retries the card. It ends when the subscription is unpaid, paused, cancelled or its first payment never completes.
  • Changing plan. A change modifies the existing subscription, never opening a second one. An upgrade takes effect when the prorated difference is paid: the processor is asked to charge it immediately, and if the card is declined or needs authentication the change stays pending, the old plan and allowance remain in force until it is paid or the pending update expires. A downgrade applies immediately and the unused time is credited on the next invoice; nothing is charged at the change.

Tax registrations, returns and filings remain the seller’s responsibility; Stripe Tax is a calculation and collection tool, not tax or legal advice.

Referral links

Some links to cloud GPU and API providers are referral links: if you create an account through one, the provider may pay this site a commission on what you spend, at no cost to you. The providers, their terms and how the cloud tables are ordered are published on the cloud GPU page. A commission never changes an order or a figure. Prices are the providers’ own, read from their public APIs at the time shown beside them; the price you are charged is the one the provider shows you, and your contract for a rented machine is with that provider, not with this site.

Links that search a store (Amazon, eBay) for a graphics card or computer are affiliate links in the same sense: a purchase through one may pay this site a commission, at no cost to you. They are only ever attached to a device the calculation already chose, and no store pays for a position. No store price is shown, because a search page has many listings and no single price this site can vouch for; your purchase contract is with the store or its seller.

Third-party names

Model, manufacturer and product names belong to their owners and are used here to identify what is being described. Their appearance is not a claim of affiliation or endorsement in either direction.
